Frequently Asked Questions

General

  • What spiders are poisonous?
  • All spiders carry venom; however, the vast majority of them cannot pierce your skin. Click here for more information about spider bites: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spider_bite.
  • Can a spider bite kill me?
  • There have been VERY few cases over many, many years of someone dying from a spider bite. I know of only two spiders to fear in our region: the Brown Recluse and the Hobo spider. The links below provide more information about these and other spiders. Tip: Wear gloves when moving wood piles.

  • Does power washing kill spiders?
  • No, they just take a bath. They’re back in three days!
  • Do spiders have more than one hatch per season?
  • Yes, that is why we recommend two (Basic Service Plan) or three (Supreme Service Plan) sprays per season for optimum control.
  • After you sprayed my home I still had webs. Do I still have spiders?
  • They are most likely old webs. Note: If you only see a single strand then that means the spider died and the solution is working.
  • Can one spray get me through a whole season?
  • No. Years back before extensive testing methods were perfected, we had products like DDT, Chlordane, Dursban, etc., that could last a whole season. Now, even though the new Dursban is safer and effective, its longevity or residual protection is much shorter. In fact, all legal chemicals today do not protect as long as the "good old days" but the chemicals are less toxic to humans and pets. Our products are the longest lasting on the market today. No one can legally use any stronger products than what we use.
  • Can I pick the day and/or time to fit my schedule?
  • Yes, absolutely!
  • Do you require a contract?
  • No, however, we do offer customer friendly contracts that are customized by you to insure we are bound by your special needs and requests. (Mostly used by businesses.)
  • Do you charge more if I choose the day or time of my service?
  • No, as long as it’s during normal business hours. We DO have emergency services available though.
  • Will you bill me or leave a bill on my door?
  • Yes, either way, it’s your choice!
  • Do you spray the windows?
  • Not unless you request us to. We try to avoid them as best we can.
  • Do you use a different chemical indoors?
  • No, Suspend S.C. is proven safe for indoor usage and is our product of choice for Interior Service unless, of course, you request our Green Service.
  • Do I need to move my furniture before Interior Service?
  • No, that’s not necessary. We are trained to give you complete service without moving your furniture or any personal stationary objects. We will work with you to customize any service that we offer!
  • Must I be home for an Exterior Service?
  • No, that’s not necessary. Please make sure, however, that you have closed all windows, not left any aggressive pets in the yard (thank you very much) and anything else discussed when we give you a courtesy call prior to service.
  • Should I close my windows if I am getting Exterior Service?
  • We give you a courtesy call prior to your service date and do suggest that you have your windows closed while we spray. We will spray around one or two open windows. The solution will not hurt the inside. (It is the same safe solution we use indoors.)
  • How long does it take the treatment to dry?
  • Depending on heat and humidity it takes from one to three hours. The Suspend S.C. manual states that it should be dry within two hours. We suggest being cautious and give it up to three hours.
